For millions of children across Europe, a new school year begins. But every child should have the same chance to learn, grow and fulfil their potential, regardless of their background.

That means investing in strong public education, supporting teachers and education workers, and making sure no child is left behind.

Quality education is not a privilege. It is a right — and a political choice.

We joined the in Blois to discuss the challenges facing progressives in France and in Europe.
PES Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck and Deputy Secretary General Yonnec Polet Polet met today with Parti Socialiste leader Olivier , PES Vice-President Nora Mebarek and PES Presidency member Cecilia Gondard.

Then, Giacomo Filibeck participated in a panel on defence. He highlighted that the EU must keep supporting Ukraine and ensure it has the strength to defend itself and achieve a just and lasting peace.
At the same time, Europe needs more integrated and stronger defence capabilities to protect our citizens and our values.
For social democrats, defence is about more than weapons. It is about human security, peace and protecting people’s lives and our social model.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Digital Affairs and First Deputy Chairman of Lewica Krzysztof Gawkowski is calling out Meta’s failure to tackle harmful ads and fraudulent content targeting people in Poland - and has asked the European Commission to fine the platform €250 million.

Digital platforms must play by the rules. People deserve to be safe online.

People must always come before profit.

We are looking for a qualified stage and programme management agency to support our upcoming events — from congresses and councils to conferences and rallies.

The framework agreement will cover comprehensive editorial, artistic and live stage management services.

Key deadlines:
• 4 September 2026 — Confirmation of intention to participate
• 15 October 2026 — Submission of full proposal
