EMAS at the EP The eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) is an environmental standard established by the European Union

5th JUNE: today is the World Environment Day is the campaign for World Environment Day 2022. It calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet
In November 2019, the former President of the European Parliament, David Maria Sassoli, and the Secretary-General, Klaus Welle signed electronically the Environmental Policy . It sets out European Parliament’s ambitions, main actors and the scope of its actions in the field of environment.

In 2007, the European Parliament decided to apply the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) standard to continually improve its environmental results concerning activities, products, and services. As a result, it was the first parliament in the EU to obtain EMAS certification in 2007.
Since 1974, World Environment Day has been celebrated on 5 June. Get involved in the 2022 World Environment Day celebrations and participate in many activities organised across the globe.

PET plastic, commonly used in packaging and drink bottles, found in half the samples' blood, while another third had polystyrene, used for packaging food and other products. The remaining quarter contained polyethylene, which is used to make plastic shopping bags.

The world around you runs on plastics, but it's also in your blood. Literally.

NEW RULES FOR USE OF ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
Belgium is introducing a series of measures to regulate the use of e-scooters including designated parking spots, an age restriction for under-16s and a ban on riding on the pavement or carrying a passenger.

Scooters are often abandoned in ways that create chaos and make it more difficult for pedestrians and cyclists.

Now there will be no-parking zones (except for persons with reduced mobility), compulsory parking zones (drop off zones) and zones where parking will be allowed without obstructing passage. Faulty parking will count as an offence of the 2nd degree, with a fine of €116.

In pedestrian zones, a sign will indicate whether an e-scooter is allowed or not, and if allowed, it will be at walking pace. Violations will incur a fine of €58.

Riding in two? NO WAY. In doing so you can incur in fine of €58, which will be collected immediately.
