*Chapter one*
(A new life)
As soon as her mother passed away Emma's life changed forever. Her father overcome with grief, remarried, quickly to a woman named Victoria. Emma's father hope that Victoria would bring stability and love into their lives,but Emma couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to take a dark turn.
Victoria was beautiful, but her cold eye and fake smile made Emma's skin crawl. She had two daughters of her own, Daphne and Sophia, who seemed to take great pleasure in making Emma feel like an outsider in her own home.
As the days went by,Emma noticed that Victoria was treating her differently from her own daughters. Victoria would give Emma chores that were impossible to finish, while Daphne and Sophia lounge around the house doing nothing. Emma's father seemed oblivious, to it all, too caught up in his own grief and new marriage one day Victoria called Emma into her room and handed her a long list of tasks. "You need to finish all of this by the end of the day Victoria said, her voice dripping with malice . If you don't, you will be published Emma felt a chill run down her spine.she knew that she was in for a thought time with Victoria as her stepmother.
Emma sighed and took the list from Victoria. She scanned through the task, her hearts skinking . Cleaning the house and doing all the laundry were just few of the chores on the list. Emma knew it was impossible to finish. everything by the end of the day, but she was determined to try.
