FMG uses RMail services and its Registered EmailTM feature to send electronic messages with certified proof of e-delivery and encryption to ensure data privacy. The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) has announced that the Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2015 is Ms. Jacqueline Johnson, Mailhandler.

Ms. Johnson is currently working within the Bermuda Mail Processing Centre of the Bermuda Post Office. Ms. Johnson has worked with the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) since 23rd July 2007 over 8 years of service. Ms. Johnson's responsibilities are to sort all local and incoming outgoing mail, as well as parcels within the Bermuda Post Office in an efficient and effective manner. Also, she is responsible for any clerical duties as requested.

Ms. Johnson was selected for this award because in her role as Mailhandler she has demonstrated the core values of the Bermuda Post Office which are integrity, team work, flexibility, service excellence, competence and passion.

Ms. Johnson performs her duties to a high standard and always goes over and beyond her duties and job description to maintain a high and consistent level of production to ensure all her work is completed. She also has a can do attitude and always goes the extra mile to provide excellent customer service to assist her internal and external customers to ensure they are always satisfied. Ms. Johnson is very reliable, self-motivated and shows initiative all the time and is adaptable to change. Ms. Johnson communicates good and has a positive attitude towards her work.

Overall, Ms. Johnson is deserving of this award because she has great work ethic and staff recognize her efforts and contributions to the success of the Operations section within the BPO. She is an asset to the BPO and is consistent in her performance and commitment to the Operations section and the BPO.

BERMUDA POST OFFICE ADVISORY – POST BOX PAYMENT DEADLINE EXTENDED TO TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2016

The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) would like to advise the public that due to problems with the BPO Post Box Online Payment System, the deadline for post office box payments has been extended to tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

The BPO apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience as a result of any problems encountered with post box payments.

Any customers who have made payments prior to Tuesday, February 2, 2016 and have been charged a late payment fee should contact the Bermuda Post Office at 295-5151 ext. 1148 for assistance.

BERMUDA POST OFFICE ADVISORY – POST BOX PAYMENTS REMINDER

The Bermuda Post Office would like to remind the public that Post Box rental fee payments are due by January 31st, 2016.

Payments made from February 1st, 2016 are subject to a late fee of $25 in addition to the post box rental fee. Payments can be made in cash or by debit/credit card at any post office around the Island, as well as online at http://shop.bpo.bm

The annual Post Box rental fees are as follows:

Large $300.00

NOTICE TO HARRINGTON SOUND RESIDENTS

The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) wishes to advise residents of HS01 and HS02 that there will be no mail delivery whilst we await the resolution of an ongoing labour dispute with the Bermuda Industrial Union that has also halted delivery to residents of SN01 and SN02.

The BPO regrets this inconvenience but asks residents in HS01 and HS02 to collect their mail from the Crawl Post Office, whilst we await the resolution of this labour dispute.

The BPO wishes to thank the public for its patience, support and understanding in this matter.

The Postmaster-General has thanked staff at the Bermuda Post Office for their hard work over Christmas.

Wayne Smith said that employees “performed well and went the extra mile to serve our customers” during the festive holidays.

“It was very busy but we managed and, although we had some customer complaints, they were the same type and frequency that we would normally receive during this time of year,” he said.

“The BPO wishes to thank the public for its support over the Christmas period and throughout 2015. We look forward to serving our customers in 2016.”

In the past five years, the service has reduced its staffing by 37 per cent and closed four sub-post offices.

Mr Smith said the move was an effort to “streamline operations and move toward the vision of being a more innovative, customer-focused and sustainable postal service”.

The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) wishes to advise residents on routes SN01 and SN02 that the labour dispute with the Bermuda Industrial Union has not yet been resolved and in this regard, we are asking those residents to continue to collect their mail from the Southampton Post Office for a little longer, until the matter is resolved.

The BPO apologizes for any inconvenience this dispute is causing the public. The BPO also takes the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
