Crystal Caesar was educated at West End Primary, The Berkeley Institute, and the Bermuda College. Caesar was chosen as one of the first ten (and only Bermudian) Rotary International Exchange Students to the former Soviet Union in 1990. She graduated with Cum Laude honours from Georgia State University obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1996. Caesar successfully obtain
ed her Certified Public Accounting designation in 2001. She has had a varied career in financial services having begun as the International Ledger Supervisor in the International Finance Division of UPS headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. She has worked in regulation in the Insurance Division of the Registrar of Companies then eventually moving to the Bermuda Monetary Authority spending time in insurance and banking. She spent seven years at HSC Bank Bermuda Limited working in the Private Banking function, credit financing team and relationship management for internationally based commercial entities. She was the Financial Controller for a medium-sized local law firm for five years and is now the part-time Finance Manager for the Mid Ocean Club. Finally, she is the Business Manager for the premier local design company Ambiance Bermuda and for a fast-growing local excavation & trenching business, Alternative Concrete Solutions. She is a classically trained ballet dancer reaching pre-professional levels in her Royal Academy Ballet courses. She has danced extensively locally with the former National Dance Theater of Bermuda and participated in performances with the Bermuda Civic Ballet, United Dance Productions and Bermuda Dance Company over the years. She also spent a summer intensive with both the Houston Ballet and on scholarship with Alvin Ailey School in New York. Her interest in the arts continued while serving for eight years on the Bermuda Arts Council and is currently on the scholarship committee of the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda. Crystal is committed to public service and social justice as evidenced by her membership in the international public service sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Additionally, she served on the Board of Education and as Chair of the Scholarship Committee for two years, the Board of Governors at the Bermuda College, the Bermuda Independence Commission of 2005, the Education Review Working Team of 2008 and as a member of the Development Applications Board. She is a Justice of the Peace and has been a Youth Net mentor. Caesar was appointed as a Senator in 2017 as part of the ruling Progressive Labour Party Government during which she has been the spokesperson and Junior Minister for Health, Home Affairs, Economic Development and Tourism, Immigration, Transport and National Security.
