𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑯𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕
The 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒖 𝒐𝒇 𝑭𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑰𝑽-𝑨 (𝑩𝑭𝑨𝑹 𝟒𝑨), conducted a 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑯𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 on August 17–18, 2026, at the BFAR 4A Regional Fisheries Training Center, Barangay Bambang, Los Baños, Laguna.
The Municipal Agriculture Office of Victoria, Laguna participated in the said training through Mr. Harold Rebong, who represented the municipality in the two-day capacity-building activity.
The training aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills on the key aspects of intensive tilapia hatchery management. Topics covered included broodstock selection and management, breeding and spawning, fry and fingerling production, proper feeding and water quality management, disease prevention, biosecurity, and other appropriate hatchery management practices.
The activity provided an opportunity for participants to enhance their technical capabilities in tilapia hatchery production and to gain valuable knowledge that may be applied in improving local fisheries and aquaculture initiatives. The knowledge and skills gained from the training are expected to contribute to the development of sustainable tilapia production and support the fisheries and livelihood programs of the Municipality of Victoria, Laguna.
