Oh our LORD, God, Jehovah, the True and Living God, our Redeemer, the ONE Who sustains us, our CREATOR, our PROTECTOR, our PROVIDER, the ONE Who causes all things to exists, for WHOM all things were created, the only wise God, the God of all wisdom, the ONE WHO sees all things, WHO searches all hearts, the All Powerful God, WHO is OMNIPOTENT, OMNIPRESENT, OMNISCIENT, the MOST HIGH GOD, WHOSE name is HOLY.
YOU WHO are just and RIGHTEOUS and TRUE! HOLY is YOUR NAME. YOU dwell in a high and holy place, but also with them that are of a humble and contrite heart.
We as a people have sinned!
We have not sought you as we should; we have flirted with the world and its festivals; we have not taught our children YOUR precepts; we have not fully honored YOU with our lives; we have become lukewarm and have had alliance with the world: we have had intimacy with the gods of this world. Our times with YOU, YOUR holy temple we have profaned. We have called good bad and called the things that were bad, good. We have sang YOUR songs to other gods, our hearts followed hard after other gods, thinking YOU wouldn't see! Our time, our children, our possessions and our resources we have used to pander to and pursued worldly interests.
We have truly sinned against the name of The LIVING GOD!
Some of us have pulled away, thinking to establish our own form of righteousness, filled with sin of pride, malice, hatred, jealousy and bitterness. We do not seek YOUR FACE, and as a result, we have become estranged before YOU. We fast, afflict ourselves and nothing happens. We have not considered YOUR TRUE FAST: to intercede for others: the afflicted, the naked, the hungry, the orphan, the poor, the elderly, voiceless, the babies, the sick.
We have forsaken YOUR COVENANT! We neglect careful, reverent study of YOUR WORD!
We are like the cities of Samaria and Jerusalem in the book of Ezekiel when they allowed their 'treasures' to be touched by the profaned; we continue to remain with , the harlots mystery Babylon, partaking in her sins, when you've commanded that we come out of her. And....now calamities are coming upon YOUR PEOPLE.
We repent of our sins, Father! We afflict our hearts before you. We turn from our selfish prideful ways. We are truly sorry for drifting away, for pursuing the gods of the age Teach us once again to seek YOUR FACE and WALK IN YOUR PRECEPTS;
HEAL OUR LAND. Take away this pestilence from YOUR people FATHER. We will Exalt YOU, the ONLY TRUE GOD, WHO GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO PAY THE PRICE OF SIN, ENABLING US TO ENTER BOLDLY INTO YOUR PRESENCE!
