Good Afternoon to All.

Today, August 12 sometime around 2pm on Johnson Road a family of five lost everything by fire. Fire Department service did all they can to assist along with the Fox Hill Police Department under the leadership of Chief Superintendent Miller and his team.

As I am not available at this time a team from the PLP St Anne's Headoffice is with the family giving assistance with water, food vouchers.

I will be seeking assistance from Social Services and Urban Renewal for the family. If you can help the family please Whatsapp 242-821-9664 or message Mr Corry Burrows.

A Promise Made. A Promise Kept.

During the campaign, many residents along the Eastern Road, particularly those in Mount Vernon, raised with me the longstanding concern about the area known as **“the Creek.”** which has not been cleaned in 10 years . You asked for it to be cleaned, and I made a commitment that it would be done.

Today, I am pleased to share with you the progress being made on the cleanup of the Creek off the Eastern Road.

After 5 loads and 65 garbage bags. The creek was cleared this weekend. It was a massive work but I’m glad it got done.

For me, leadership is about more than making promises during a campaign. It is about listening to the people, taking action, and delivering on the commitments we make.

This is one more example of what can happen when we listen to our residents and turn their concerns into action.

The work CONTINUES. The PROGRESS is visible. And the promise is being delivered.

Thank you to the residents of Mount Vernon and the wider Eastern Road community for speaking up, believing in the process, and continuing to help keep St. Anne's clean together.

My team and I promised. We listened. We acted.

🇧🇸📚 A Salute to Teachers Across The Bahamas — And One Who Made a Difference in My Life*🇧🇸📚

There are some teachers you remember because they taught you a subject, and then there are teachers you remember because **they helped shape the person you became.**

Today, I want to salute **all the teachers throughout The Bahamas** who continue to educate, discipline, encourage, mentor, and inspire our young people. Your influence reaches far beyond the classroom. Many times, you may never fully know just how much your words, your correction, your encouragement, or even your expectations have impacted a student's life.

For me, one teacher who stands out is **Mr. Roland Dean of A. F. Adderley Senior High School**, my mathematics teacher and mentor.

Now, let me tell you something about Mr. Dean—**that man had a voice and a demeanor that could straighten you up before he even finished calling your name! 😂** When Mr. Dean spoke, you didn't need a microphone. You heard him—and you listened!

But beyond that stern voice and serious demeanor was a teacher who cared. He challenged us. He expected us to do better. He pushed us to take our education seriously and, for me, became more than just a mathematics teacher. **He became a mentor and an important male figure in my life.**

As I look back today, I appreciate things I may not have fully understood as a young student. Sometimes, discipline feels like pressure when you're young, but as you grow older, you realize that some people were simply trying to prepare you for life.

Mr. Dean, wherever life has taken you, I want you to know that **your investment in your students did not go unnoticed.** The lessons went beyond mathematics. You taught through your presence, your standards, your discipline, and your example.

Thank you, Mr. Dean. Thank you for being a teacher. Thank you for being a mentor. And thank you for being a strong male figure who contributed to the person I am today.

And to every teacher across **The Bahamas**—from New Providence to the Family Islands— keep going. Keep teaching. Keep mentoring. Keep believing in our children.

You may be teaching mathematics, English, science, history, or another subject, but understand this: (you are also helping to shape the future of The Bahamas. 🇧🇸)

Some students may forget the formulas.

Some may forget the assignments.

But they will remember how you made them feel, how you challenged them, and how you helped them become better.

On Tuesday August 4th, After receiving a call from Mr Domonic Brice a concerned residents on Step Street and Grant Street as it relates to the water supply system not working. I made a call to water and sewage emergency department and sent the pin location.
I am happy to report that on August 5th the service has been restored for the residents of the community.

Thanks Water & Sewage Department for responding in a timely matter.

My heart was truly disappointed today.

After receiving a call from a concern resident who lives in the community of Bonnie Way, I drove along Johnson Road and was deeply disappointed to see bags of garbage deliberately dumped along the roadside. What made it even more upsetting is knowing that dedicated workers had worked hard to clean those very verges, only for their efforts to be so carelessly disrespected.

I want to make a heartfelt appeal to everyone who lives in the Johnson Road community and to those who travel through it each day. Please help us keep our community clean. Dispose of your garbage properly, encourage others to do the same, and remain vigilant. If you witness illegal dumping, report it through the appropriate channels if it is safe to do so.

A clean community is something we can all be proud of. It reflects who we are, how much we value our surroundings, and the respect we have for one another. Every piece of litter picked up—and every bag of garbage disposed of responsibly—helps make Johnson Road a better place for everyone.

Let's not undo the hard work of those who are committed to keeping our community beautiful. Instead, let's work together to protect our environment, take pride in our surroundings, and show that Johnson Road is a community that cares.

Keeping Johnson Road clean is everyone's responsibility. Together, we can make a difference. 💚🌿
