Ura Annual Mushroom Festival-Celebrating the Treasures of the Forest

‘Get ready to embark on a magical mushroom journey at the Ura’

What to expect

Local Cuisine: You will get to taste mouth watering mushroom dishes prepared by mothers and home chefs in Ura. The unique local cuisine will embrace the richness of mushrooms in every dish.

Traditional Music: You will witness both young and old dancing to the rhythm of traditional tunes, modern beats, and revered mask dances. It is a festival celebrating the gifts of the forest, communities and beyond.

Mushroom Foraging Adventure: If you are a mushroom enthusiast and would like to go mushroom foraging with the locals, then you will definitely enjoy this activity.

Exhibits: Explore vibrant market stalls bursting with local mushroom varieties and dive into educational exhibits as you listen to the stories of mushrooms in Ura, especially that of the famous ‘Sangay Shamu’.

Bicycling Race: The unprecedented charms and memories along the high terrain road will be an enchanting achievement to everyone of us. 50 Km distance???? Really enough to engross yourself in high terrain??? Welcome everyone to taste the race…..prepared…equip…practice to participate. You all are included for this exciting race. Registration is open!!!!

Homestay- Away from your home but with different traditions and customs awaiting your visit. Cultural heartland of the country provides you with rich traditional hospitality services. The booking is open now.Limited accommodation capacity.

We are delighted to announce that the 2nd Edition of the Snowman Race will take place in 2024 with the Race commencing on 24th October 2024, on the second day of the Royal Highland Festival in Laya.
