As May 28 is globally observed as World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we join the world in honoring this special day dedicated to awareness, dignity, and empowerment for all women and girls across the world. Wishing everyone a very meaningful and empowering day.🌹❣️
Together with this, we would like to share something very close to our heart. Since November last year, our nunnery has started a small initiative called the Sangchen Nuns Health and Hygiene Initiative. This initiative was inspired when a generous tourist and benefactor, a former Neten of Gasa, sponsored sanitary pads for 120 nuns for an entire year. With the guidance of our Khenchen, we were encouraged to make this support sustainable for the long run. Since then, we have shared the idea with our family, friends, and supporters, whose generosity helped us continue this initiative. Every month on the 28th, we distribute sanitary pads and health essential items to our nuns. During each distribution, we take photos and videos and share updates in our group for transparency and to express our gratitude for their continued support.
So we sincerely thank all our supporters for your kindness and encouragement. In the future, we hope to extend this support beyond our nuns to remote areas who lacks easy access to sanitary products.❣️💐🥰
Lastly, we are deeply grateful to our Khenchen, Khenpo and Lopens for always guiding us and for giving us a free, safe, and open environment that empowers us to serve and grow.
