Regional Office for Infrastructure Development - ROID, Punakha

On 22 July 2026, the Regional Office for Infrastructure Development (ROID), Punakha successfully conducted its 1st Quarterly Coordination Meeting with the Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag Engineering Sector to strengthen coordination, improve organization performance, and enhance public service delivery.

The meeting focused on addressing implementation challenges through stronger collaboration, resource sharing, and technical support. ROID also introduced its new Dashboard, linked with Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT) Headquarters, presented the Design Checklist, and clarified the Turnaround Time (TAT) priority system for project design and delivery. In addition, ROID committed to providing a refresher course for the engineering sector of Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of ROID and the Dzongkhag Administrations to work together in delivering efficient, timely, and quality infrastructure services.

Mrs. Yeshi Dema joins us with valuable experience from her previous role as Development Regulatory Officer (DRO) at Lhuentshe Dzongkhag. We are confident that her knowledge, dedication, and expertise will be a great asset to our team as we continue working towards excellence in infrastructure development.

We are pleased to warmly welcome Mr. Sonam Rinchen as our new Urban Planner and Mr. Subash Rai as Architect to the Regional Office for Infrastructure Development (ROID), Punakha.

To mark the beginning of their journey with our office, we commenced the day with a visit to the sacred Punakha Dzong and Machoen Lhakhang, seeking blessings for their new responsibilities and for the continued success of our office. A simple Kadar ceremony was also offered at Machoen Lhakhang as a gesture of goodwill and auspicious beginnings.

Following the visit, we had the pleasure of introducing them to the civil servants of DAP and to our ROID staff. It concluded with a warm and friendly tea session, providing an opportunity for meaningful interaction and fellowship.
