The 3rd Local Government,10th Gewog Tshogde of Wangphu Gewog Administration was successfully conducted with the participation of all GT members, sector heads and school representatives.During the session, the Gewog Tshogde members thoroughly reviewed and endorsed the Financial Year 2026–2027 budget.
The meeting also discussed various issues raised by the different chiwog Tshogpa, including farm roads, water supply, agriculture, school-related matters such as infrastructure maintenance,and other community development concerns.

The meeting concluded with offering Zhabten for the long life and good health for His Majesty The King and for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the nation and its people.

Wangphu Gewog Administration is successfully conducted the handing-taking of the Dry Irrigation work at Serchenmo Village,Wangphu Chiwog. The project was supported and funded by the Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector to improved agricultural productivity.
The handing-taking ceremony was attended by the Dzongkhag Agriculture Officer, Site Engineer,Gewog officials, Chiwog Tshogpa and community members. During the program, the Agriculture Officer also urged farmers to continue work hard in their agricultural fields and make effective use of the irrigation facility to enhance productivity and improve livelihoods.
The community members also expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector for its valuable support.

Capacity Building Training on Bamboo Handicraft at Sachilo Chiwog, Wangphu Gewog Under Samdrup jongkhar Dzongkhag🌿

Wangphu Gewog Administration is conducting a Capacity Building Training on Bamboo Handicraft at Sachilo Chiwog in collaboration with the Tshar Institute, Mongar Dzongkhag.
The main objective of this initiative is to promote the sustainable use of our rich local bamboo resources while enhancing community skills, creating livelihood opportunities, and improving economic self-reliance. Through this training, participants will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in bamboo handicraft production, enabling them to transform local resources into marketable products.
This project is organized by the Department of Local Government and Disaster Management (DLGDM) and funded by the European Union (EU) under the Community Engagement Platform (CEP) group of Sachilo Chiwog, Wangphu Gewog.

On 27/04/2026,
National Livestock and Crops Insurance Scheme advocacy program was conducted at Wangphu Gewog by the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited (Samdrup Jongkhar Office) in collaboration with the Dzongkhag Livestock Office and the Gewog Agriculture Officer. The program aimed to raise awareness among farmers on the importance of safeguarding their livelihoods against unforeseen risks.
During the session, officials highlighted the benefits, coverage, and enrollment procedures under the insurance scheme, emphasizing protection against losses caused by natural calamities, diseases, and other uncertainties affecting crops and livestock.

On 25th April 2026
Dasho NC of Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag visited Wangphu Gewog and met with the Gewog Staff, Civil servent and people of the Gewog.
During the meeting, Dasho NC emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and active public participation in His Majesty the King’s noble vision of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC)the construction 108 Chorten.Dasho also discussed the challenges and issues faced by farmer cooperative groups and challenges, issues faced by the people.
The people of Wangphu Gewog expressed their appreciation for the visit to the Gewog.
