The Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration warmly welcomed its newly recruited contract teachers and Front Desk Assistant in an induction programme graced by the Dasho Dzongrab.

The programme provided the new recruits with an overview of the Bhutan Civil Service Rules and Regulations (BCSR), the Civil Service Code of Conduct, workplace ethics, legal responsibilities, and other essential aspects of public service to prepare them for their new roles.

As they embark on this meaningful journey, the Dzongkhag Administration extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes. On 3rd August 2026, Trashigang Dzongkhag welcomed a reminder that nation-building is never the work of one institution alone — it is a shared journey built on trust, dialogue, and the courage to look honestly at both progress and challenges.

That spirit came alive when the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Bhutan, chaired by its Chairperson and joined by four Committee Members, visited the Dzongkhag to consult on the implementation of the CARLEP Project — part of its follow-up to the Royal Audit Authority's report to the 5th Session of the 4th Parliament.

Joined by the Dzongdag, Dzongrab, RNR sector officials, and Local Government representatives, the session went beyond figures — sharing stories of strengthened communities, improved services, and expanding local economies, while openly addressing challenges and the steps needed to carry this progress forward.

This is good governance in practice: not oversight for its own sake, but a shared commitment to ensuring every public Ngultrum invested returns as real, lasting value for the people.

Trashigang — In a powerful demonstration of grassroots leadership meeting global vision, the Dzongkhag Education Sector today successfully conducted an advocacy and awareness programme on Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for Local Government functionaries representing all 15 Gewogs of Trashigang Dzongkhag.

The programme brought Gups, Mangmis, and Tshogpas — the very leaders closest to Trashigang’s families and children — into a single room with a single conviction: that the future of the nation begins not in policy documents, but in the first 2,000 days of a child’s life.

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑵𝒐𝒘, 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔

The science leaves no room for doubt. The earliest years of childhood are the most critical window for brain development — a period that shapes a child’s capacity to learn, to thrive, and to contribute for the rest of their life. Investments made now yield returns unmatched by any intervention later in life, often described globally as the “butterfly effect” — where small, timely actions today create outsized impact across generations.

This local initiative mirrors a growing global movement, one that will culminate in a High-Level ECCD Financing Summit in 2027 under the leadership of Queen Rania of Jordan, where nations will stand together to recommit to their children. Trashigang’s advocacy programme ensures that when Bhutan speaks at that global table, it speaks from a foundation already being built in its own gewogs.

The session was designed to:

• Deepen understanding among Local Government leaders of ECCD’s role in national development
• Strengthen local ownership of early childhood policies and services
• Equip leaders to champion access to quality healthcare, nutrition, and early learning within their communities
• Align Trashigang’s grassroots efforts with Bhutan’s broader commitment to its children

𝑨 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚

Participants were reminded that ECCD is not merely a social service — it is a smart national investment, one directly linked to health, education, gender equality, and long-term economic resilience. Leaders were called upon to carry this understanding back to their communities: that a well-nourished, well-nurtured child today becomes a healthier, more capable citizen tomorrow.

This is Tsa-Wa-Sum given living form — leadership in service of the nation’s most precious resource, its children.

With Local Government leaders now equipped as informed advocates, Trashigang expects to see stronger community-level engagement in ECCD services, improved coordination between health, education, and local governance, and — most importantly — more children across the 15 Gewogs given the strong start every child deserves.

As one global voice in this movement has said: investing in young children is one of the smartest investments any nation can make. Today, Trashigang did not simply attend a programme — it renewed a promise to its children.

Let every gewog become a place where no child’s potential is left to chance. The future of Trashigang, and of Bhutan, begins in the earliest years of a child’s life — and today, our leaders stood up to protect it.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐠 𝐓𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐠𝐝𝐮 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬

The 11th Session of the Trashigang Dzongkhag Tshogdu came to a close on Friday, wrapping up a day of discussion and review at the DT Hall.

The House endorsed the district budget for 2026–2027 at Nu 1.517 billion — Nu 264 million for capital works and Nu 1.25 billion for current expenses — along with budget allocations for each gewog.

Members also reviewed follow-up on resolutions from the 10th Session and looked at the district’s performance over the past financial year, with Gups, Tshogpas, Sector heads and regional officials present.

The session opened with traditional offerings and closed with Tashi Moelam, following closing remarks by the Thrizin and the reading of resolutions.

With the new budget in place, Trashigang moves into the year ahead with its priorities set.

The Dzongkhag School Sports Meet (DSSM) concluded successfully today, with the closing ceremony graced by Dasho Dzongdag as the Chief Guest.

The two-day sporting event brought together 240 student-athletes from 11 Middle Secondary Schools (MSS) and Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) across the Dzongkhag, providing a platform to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition.

Congratulations to Dungtse Central School for emerging as the Overall Champion, and to Bartsham Central School for securing the Runners-up title.

In Dasho's closing address, Dasho emphasized that while the Royal Government provides stipends to support students' education and ensure their nutritional needs are met, students must also take personal responsibility for maintaining their physical fitness through active participation in sports and other physical activities. Dasho further encouraged students to strive for academic excellence, highlighting that top-performing students will have the opportunity to participate in educational excursions sponsored by the Dzongkhag Administration, including domestic air travel to Thimphu and Paro, with the return journey via Bumthang.

The Dzongkhag extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the winners, participants, coaches, officials, and members of the organizing committee for their dedication and commitment in making the 2026 Dzongkhag School Sports Meet a memorable and successful event. The event was hosted by Rangjung Central School.

Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration today marked the successful completion of a one-day orientation and onboarding programme for 29 new team members stepping into service across the dzongkhag.

Among them: 26 PGDE-qualified teachers — including 5 trained counsellors — ready to shape young minds in classrooms across the district, alongside 1 Administrative Assistant and 2 Agriculture Supervisors who will strengthen the dzongkhag’s administrative and farming support systems.

The orientation offered more than paperwork and protocol. New recruits were introduced to the values, responsibilities, and spirit of public service that define life in Trashigang — a reminder that every posting here carries the weight and privilege of serving Tsa-Wa-Sum.

As they head to their respective schools, gewogs, and offices, Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration extends a warm Tashi Delek to all 29 — welcome to the team. The work ahead is meaningful, and the dzongkhag is stronger for having you.

Today, the Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration proudly celebrated a Promotion Ceremony to honour twelve dedicated civil servants whose unwavering commitment, professionalism, and years of devoted service have contributed immensely to strengthening public service delivery across the Dzongkhag.

The ceremony was marked by a special moment as Mr. Jigme Tenzin, Officiating Principal of Changmey Primary School, received a Meritorious Promotion in recognition of his exemplary leadership, outstanding performance, and steadfast dedication to nurturing the future generation, even in one of the Dzongkhag’s remote school communities.

Joining him were officials from diverse sectors, including Agriculture and Livestock Extension Supervisors, Finance, Administration, and Support Services. Each promotion represents not only professional advancement but also a well-deserved recognition of integrity, perseverance, and selfless service to the Tsa-Wa-Sum.

The occasion may have been modest in scale, but it carried a profound message: true public service is built through quiet commitment, consistent effort, and an unwavering sense of duty. Every official, regardless of designation, plays a vital role in advancing good governance and improving the lives of our people.

𝐄𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐭𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬

A team from Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration — planning, surveyors, engineers, forestry officers, medical personnel, and three local guides — has just returned from a gruelling survey expedition deep into the wilderness of Eastern Bhutan.

Their mission: to map and plan the 𝐘𝐞𝐭𝐢 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 — a route that threads through some of the most remote and mystical terrain in the country. From Sakteng, the team pushed through the Rongjung goo and tsholing goenpa and descended into Merak — two of Bhutan’s last nomadic communities, home to the Brokpa people and their centuries-old way of life. From Merak, the trail continued onward via Phreangla all the way to Samcholling at Samkhar.

Eight days on foot. Through high-altitude passes, dense forests, and trails that have known only yak hooves and the footsteps of those who believe.

This afternoon, the team arrived back in Trashigang — and they did not return quietly. Dasho Dzongdag, Dzongrab, and Sector Heads were on hand to welcome the expedition home — a fitting reception for a team that carried more than equipment into those mountains. They carried a vision.

The 𝐘𝐞𝐭𝐢 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 is more than a hiking route. It is a doorway into the living folklore, breathtaking landscapes, and ancient highland culture of Eastern Bhutan — and a bold step toward community-based tourism that puts Trashigang on the map for adventurers the world over.

The trail is being planned. The legend is being built.

On 26th June 2026, the Livestock Sector, Trashigang Dzongkhag Administration, in collaboration with the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan (RICBL), brought a game-changing message straight to the doorsteps of farmers — your piggery, poultry, and dairy cattle can now be insured.

In a dedicated advocacy session held for farmers across the dzongkhag, officials walked communities through the National Crop and Livestock Insurance Scheme — a landmark policy approved by the 48th session of the fourth Lhengye Zhungtshog on 24th April 2025, and officially launched on 11th November 2025, coinciding with the auspicious 70th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫?
