Today also marks World Environment Day, reminding us of our collective responsibility to protect and preserve the natural environment for future generations.

As an institution committed to skills development in agriculture, horticulture, food processing and landscape technology, RDTC reaffirms its commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious and skilled professionals who will contribute to a greener and more sustainable Bhutan.

We are delighted to announce that the first batch of Landscape Technology trainees has successfully completed their On-the-Job Training (OJT) with Green Bhutan Corporation Limited.

Following their return to the institute, the trainees presented their experiences, learning outcomes and key findings gained during their attachment. Their presentations demonstrated the practical skills, industry exposure and professional growth achieved through this valuable hands-on training.

With the successful completion of their OJT, the trainees will now prepare for the upcoming National Competency Assessment. Upon successfully passing the assessment, they will graduate and embark on their professional careers in the landscape and horticulture sector.

The institute extends its heartfelt appreciation to Green Bhutan Corporation Limited for their continued support and commitment to developing skilled professionals. We are proud of our trainees for their hard work, dedication and achievements throughout their training journey.

We wish them the very best in their National Assessment and look forward to celebrating their graduation soon.

Today, the Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) Meeting was successfully coordinated by the Rural Development Training Centre (RDTC), Zhemgang, with the gracious presence of the Honourable Dasho Dzongda of Zhemgang as the chief guest.

The meeting served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration between industries, institutions and stakeholders towards enhancing vocational and technical education in Bhutan. During the meeting, the General Manager of GBCL was appointed as the Chairperson of the Industry Advisory Committee.

The meeting was attended by distinguished members including the president of the Horticulture Association of Bhutan, Officiating CEO of FMCL, Proprietor of Shaoulee Food, Chief Dzongkhag Agriculture Officer of Zhemgang, In-charge of the National Post Harvest Centre, Director of RDTC and the Member Secretary of RDTC.

RDTC extends heartfelt gratitude to all the respected members and participants for their valuable guidance, support and commitment towards strengthening industry linkages and skills development for a brighter future.

The successful completion of the Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Landscape Diploma program marks an important milestone for Rural Development Training Centre.

The program has been an eye-opening and enriching experience that strengthened our understanding, teaching approaches and vision for landscape education and training.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Liane Cook from Humber Polytechnic for her invaluable guidance, dedication and inspiring mentorship throughout the program. Your knowledge sharing, encouragement, and passion have truly left a lasting impact on all of us.

Thank you for opening our eyes to new perspectives and possibilities in landscape education. RDTC will always remember your meaningful contributions towards the growth and development of the Landscape Diploma program.
