Additionally, the ambassador explored the recently accredited laboratory, a prestigious accomplishment acknowledged by the Southern African Development Community Accreditation Service (SADCAS).
In a warm welcome to the U.S. Ambassador, the Assistant Minister of Health, Honorable Sethomo Lelatisitswe, hailed Botswana's impressive progress in surpassing the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets. He attributed the nation's recent silver tier award for eliminating mother-to-child HIV transmission to the unwavering support from the United States.
โThe U.S. support in our healthcare system touches a number of areas, but the pivotal support has been in the area of HIV/AIDS," Mr. Lelatisitswe emphasized, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in advancing Botswana's healthcare endeavors.
In his address, U.S. Ambassador Mr. Howard A. Van Vranken applauded the dedication and hard work of the Scottish Livingstone Hospital staff, which led to the prestigious accreditation of the laboratory by SADCAS.
