Seronga Buzzes with Innovation: Showcasing Community Business Idea-thons

Today, Seronga pulsed with the vibrant energy of possibility as districts from across Botswana proudly displayed their winning Community Idea-thons. With 155 innovative business ideas on display, the atmosphere was charged with creativity, ambition, and a shared vision for a prosperous future.

These ideas, born from the hearts of our communities, are more than just plans on paper. They represent the dreams and aspirations of Batswana who see the potential in their surroundings and are ready to transform it into sustainable wealth. Each district presented five winning ideas to the public and His Excellency President Masisi, showcasing the ingenuity and self-reliance that lie at the core of our national identity.

From sustainable farming initiatives to eco-tourism ventures that tap into the natural beauty of our land, the ideas on display were as diverse as the people who conceived them. Yet, they all share a common goal: to harness our natural resources, not just for today, but to build a legacy of prosperity for future generations.

The next step is clear. These ideas, once mere sparks of inspiration, are set to come to life, with communities rallying together to turn dreams into reality. The vision is not just to take advantage of what we have, but to create something greater—to forge a path that leads Botswana to High-Income status, fueled by the creativity and determination of its people.

As the day unfolded, Seronga became a living testament to what can be achieved when communities embrace the mindset of possibility. The buzz of activity, the excitement of discovery, and the pride in each district’s achievements painted a picture of a nation on the rise. With every idea presented, we take a step closer to a future where Batswana are not only the custodians of their resources but also the architects of their own prosperity.

In the words of our anniversary’s theme, Itsholelo Yame, Boikarabelo Jwame-Isago Ya Rona, today we witnessed the birth of a new era of self-reliance and economic empowerment. As we move forward, let us carry the spirit of this day with us, ensuring that these ideas are not just celebrated but brought to life, driving our country toward a brighter, wealthier tomorrow.
“One Botswana, one Motswana, for us all.”

Celebrating a Year of Mindset Change: A Journey Towards a Prosperous Botswana!

It's been a full year since we embarked on a transformative journey together. On July 20th, 2023, in the heart of Zutshwa, the National Mindset Change Campaign was launched, sparking a movement that has reached every corner of Botswana. Our goal? To lift our nation to high-income status and achieve the prosperity envisioned in Botswana’s Vision 2036.

As we reflect on the past year, we celebrate the strides we've made in promoting awareness of mindset change and fostering a spirit of self-reliance among Batswana. This campaign has been more than just an initiative; it’s been a movement, a call to action, and a rallying cry for every Motswana to take charge of their life, wellbeing, and future.

Marking the Milestone in Seronga

Originally slated for July 30th, our anniversary celebration will now take place on August 14th, 2024, in the picturesque village of Seronga in the Okavango District. This change, due to unforeseen events, hasn’t dampened our spirits; instead, it has amplified our excitement and determination to celebrate in grand style!

Driving Change, One Clean-Up at a Time

In the lead-up to our anniversary, the campaign secretariat organized a series of clean-up and beautification drives across all 31 districts of Botswana throughout the month of July. These drives are more than just about tidying up our surroundings; they are symbolic acts of commitment to our shared vision. By engaging in these activities, Batswana are demonstrating their dedication to a cleaner, more beautiful, and prosperous nation.

Building Momentum, Engaging Communities

Each clean-up and beautification drive has been a testament to the power of community spirit. From the bustling streets of Gaborone to the serene landscapes of Maun, Batswana have come together to clean, beautify, and renew their environments. These drives have not only improved our public spaces but have also ignited a sense of pride and ownership in our communities.
