Disability Youth Forum Kicks Off with a Bang!

Today marked the thrilling start of the two-day Disability Youth Forum, a pioneering event hosted by the National Mindset Change Campaign in partnership with the Botswana Council for the Disabled. Held at Botho University in Gaborone, the forum has brought together youth living with disabilities from all walks of life, united in their mission to spark change and champion a more inclusive and forward-thinking Botswana.

With the theme "Mindset Change for PWDs Towards Active Participation in Leadership Roles," this forum is a milestone for the Mindset Change Campaign—its first event focused on youth living with disabilities, and the third forum organized by the Botswana Council for the Disabled. The goal? To empower these young trailblazers to step boldly into leadership roles, showing that disability is no barrier to influence, innovation, or transformation.

The energy in the room today has been electric, filled with powerful discussions and inspiring testimonials. These dynamic young leaders are pushing boundaries and reimagining what’s possible, as they work together to craft innovative solutions that can drive real impact in their communities.

But the excitement doesn’t stop here. Tomorrow, the forum continues with even more engaging sessions, designed to equip these future leaders with the tools and mindset needed to carry the Mindset Change Campaign forward, as agents of transformation in their respective communities.

This forum is more than just an event—it’s the beginning of a movement led by the youth, for the youth, toward a future where inclusion, diversity, and leadership thrive in Botswana.
