Khama too must be investigated on the death of Motswaledi and others.
It's indeed wrong, we know that, but I beieve Khama must also confess that he too did the same thing during his rule. We we saved by his successer Dr. Eric Keabetswe Masisi. Just here in Rasesa we are still awaiting the results of the investigations of the killings of Bakang Buisanyang and Thabang Rasesa. Khama is accountable. He must stop blaming others before he addresses his cases of slaughter of Botswana Citizens and Foreigners.
Former Botswana President Ian Khama has dismissed Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan as illegitimate.
Speaking at a forum on African renaissance at Lukenya University in Makueni County, Kenya, Khama accused President Suluhu of rigging the October 29, 2025, election and using force to suppress dissent.
“The recent election in Tanzania and what transpired, the killings around the election. I, for one, do not recognise the person who was inaugurated as the President of Tanzania. She is an illegitimate president,” Khama said.
He continued, “It is totally unacceptable when an African leader, in order to stay in power, resorts to killing his or her own people. To rig an election, as if they are God's gift to their country. In a nation of millions, for any leader to think they are the only one who can lead is pathetic.”
The former President also called out what he termed a tendency by some African leaders to intimidate opposition figures through arrests and banning of opposition parties.
Khama was the chief guest at the ceremony, which marked two years since Lukenya University established the Pan-Africanism Institute to promote African renaissance.
