SPATIAL PLANNING EXPERT ADVERT – MIOMBO–MOPANE INTEGRATED LAND USE MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Ministry of Environment and Tourism is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Spatial Planning Expert for the Miombo–Mopane Integrated Land Use Management Plan, to be seconded to the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).

The Spatial Planning Expert will provide technical support in Integrated spatial and land-use planning.

Tutume District Integrated Land Use Management Plan (ILUMP) Gets Underway*

Last week marked the commencement of the Miombo–Mopane Integrated Land Use Management Plan (ILUMP) for Tutume District, with an Inception District Leadership Meeting setting the stage for the planning process.

The land use plan is being prepared under an *Operational Agreement between the Government of Botswana, the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)*, supporting efforts to promote integrated, sustainable and climate-resilient land-use management within the Miombo–Mopane landscape.

The inception meeting was followed by field reconnaissance activities and a stakeholder workshop, bringing together key stakeholders to assess land-use dynamics, development opportunities, land degradation challenges and priorities for sustainable land management in the District.

The process provides an important platform for strengthening stakeholder ownership, coordinated planning and practical implementation of sustainable land-use solutions in Tutume District.

Certificates of Registration are ready for collection at DTCP Headquarters, Main Mall, Debswana House (5th Floor).

Please note that certificates are currently available only to those who met the registration deadline. Certificates for those who did not meet the deadline will be available for collection from 09 February 2026.
