APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW! :D

Applications have opened for the latest edition of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP), which will provide 1,000 startups with training, mentorship and US$5,000 in funding.

The programme, run by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), is now in its fourth cycle of its 10-year, US$100 million commitment to identify, train, mentor and fund 10,000 African entrepreneurs by 2024.

Applications for the latest edition close on March 1, with successful applicants to receive 12 weeks of intensive online training, access to a world-class mentor, and US$5,000 in seed capital to prove the concept, plus access to further funding. They will also gain access to the TEF network of startups.

Opportunities are everywhere, seize them! Go all out or nothing! :D

2018 IDDS PARTICIPANT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!!!

Between June – August 2018, we have these three summits:

1)IDDS Botswana 2018 is a four- week hands-on summit which will be hosted in the villages of D’kar, Dutlwe, Rakops and Kaputura in Botswana from 15th July – 13th August 2018. Under the theme “improving rural community livelihoods in Botswana” which has a particular focus on co-creating grassroots technologies/innovations and the supporting business models that will be taken-up by the rural community members through their innovation centers in order to enhance and sustain their livelihoods. 2) IDDS Kenya (IDDS Financial Inclusion) is a two-week summit that will be hosted in communities in Embu county, Kenya from July 8 - 22. The summit has a special focus on developing solutions for Financial Inclusion, new ways to bring financial services to those underserved in rural Kenya based on community challenges. By Financial Inclusion, we mean a diverse set of products, services and resources used to approximate, create and disseminate financial wellbeing. The solutions coming out of this summit will include a mix of hardware and software. For more information, please watch this short video on financial inclusion. 3) IDDS Colombia (IDDS Coastal Territories) is a two-week summit that will be hosted in the Atlantic region of Colombia from July 15th to July 30th. The summit has a special focus on developing solutions for basic development challenges in areas such as sanitation, housing, access to water and food security, all in the context of new settlements close to the Atlantic coast of Colombia. We expect to produce between 8-10 hardware and/or service working prototypes. All projects will be further supported by the C-Innova Innovation Center. My name is Tshepo Mohlala a
25 year old entrepreneur and JeanMaker.

I come from a small township called Tsakane situated 25k's (in the Far East of Johannesburg)

I was raised by a single mother, my grandparents and the community.

Every morning and afternoon I spend over 1H30minutes on the road, riding from home to Johannesburg and vice versa to make my dreams a reality.

I dropped out twice in my life due to financial constrains. however, I didn't allow my situation to stop me from reaching my dreams. Over the past 3 years I have managed to create a name for myself, build a credible brand, employ people and inspire others to wake up and start doing amazing stuff.

I haven't reached my peak yet but I am on the right track.

Business is hard But Without fear i am coming for everything.

My wish is for every young men and women who come from nothing to stay woke and focus on the bigger picture.

Life is not a race. It a long lonely journey of self discovery. Don't give up!!

SEEDSTARS WORLD - GABORONE
Seedstars World ("SSW”) is an exclusive (invitation only) global start-up competition and network to identify the leading seed-stage start-ups across emerging markets and fast growing start-up scenes. YOUTH BUSINESS SUMMIT
Young Achievers Botswana is an organisation that was founded by a young Motswana by the name of Chicco Mokhe, and has mandated itself to working with companies and individuals to bridge the gap between the corporate world and the youth of Botswana.
YAB has thus organized the combined Summit with the theme ‘Youth Entrepreneurship & Poverty Eradication: The Nation’s Collective Responsibility’ targeted at both youths in business and those looking at going into business.
Attendance is expected from organizations from both public and private sector experts such as BIH, LEA, CEDA and KBL KickStart who will deliver various presentations.
The Summit will also provide an opportunity for youth in business to promote their businesses, showcase their products as well as provide their peers with advice and insights on the business world. The main objective of this summit is to foster and encourage close relations between the corporate world and the youth of today through collaborations with local and international organizations.
