WALKING FOR EDUCATION BOTSWANA CHAPTER
Walking for Education (WFE) members ran and walked in the 10K, 21K, and 42K events at Sunday’s University of Botswana Marathon in Gaborone on Sept 6.
Ranging in age from 7 to 55+, WFE participants raised awareness among fellow runners about the importance of education in their communities.
Walking for Education (WFE) is the flagship Social Responsibility initiative of Mentorship for Excellence International Botswana (MEI-B).
We walk in cities and villages, along streets and trails. We urge community involvement in the education and upkeep of schools.
We also advocate role modelling for students and support for teachers. Together, we can collectively improve education for our students.
So, why do we walk?
Because someone walked for us—making our education possible.
We pay it forward to those who helped us by helping those who need it today.
WFE team believes it's our turn to walk for those who come after us.
