The Botswana Dental Association (BODEA) hosted a two-day congress in Maun this week under the theme, " ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐."
The event brought together dentists, oral health professionals, Medical Aid schemes, and stakeholders from across and outside the country to discuss advancements in dental care, clinical techniques, and improving patient outcomes.
On the first day, BODEA members partnered with the Oral Health Team from Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital to conduct dental screenings and public education at ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ฌ๐๐ญ๐ฌ๐ข.
Bana Ba Letsatsi is a non-governmental organisation that offers rehabilitation programs for children who have dropped out of school.
The outreach aimed to promote oral hygiene, early detection of dental problems, and provide education on preventive care to the children and caregivers at the center.
Dr. Kelebalwe Tacheba, speaking on behalf of BODEA, said the association is committed to combining clinical excellence with community service. โWe believe precision in dentistry starts with prevention and education. Reaching vulnerable children is part of achieving excellent outcomes for the whole nation,โ she said.
Over the two days, delegates attended scientific sessions, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions centered on new technology, evidence-based practice, and improving access to quality dental services in both urban and rural areas.
