MINISTER OFFICIALLY OPENS MOSHUPA POST OFFICE
Minister of Communications, Knowledge and Technology, Honourable Thulaganyo Merafe Segokgo officially opened the newly refurbished Moshupa Post Office this morning at main Kgotla.
Minister Segokgo highlighted the importance of post offices in the livelihoods of citizens. He emphasized that the newly refurnished Moshupa Post Office has some technological advancemets that the community should align themselves with.
He pointed out that Botswana government has prioritised the use of technology and digitalisation in its efforts geared towards creating a digitally inclusive nation by ensuring that all people have access to reliable technology.
Minister Segokgo asserted that Moshupa Post Office has been incorporated with some technological advancements such as tap and go, Posa'it, as is the case with the rest of the world and has identified digital technologies as key enablers for economic growth and transformation.
He further said government prioritize these skills development and capacity building, digital infrastructure development and digital access, stating that building more post offices across the country would ease the livelihoods of citizens and bring services closer to the people. He further urged residents to take good care of the facility for maximun benefit to be derived.
Welcoming the audience, Senior Chief's Representative, Kgosi Oscar Mosielele said as often alluded, Botswana Post was the epicenter of service delivery as such residents needed to utilise its services to better their daily lives because they all have a key role to play in developing the economy. He further indicated that government has fostered most developments across the country something that needs recognition.
Moshupa District Council Chairman, Honourable Sonny Phiri appluded the government and all those who attended the event, stretching out that it was government's aim to improve the lives of its citizens and also called for Botswana Post to consider building other post office in the district as the current is serving a pop**ation of 58 000. He further encouraged residents to attend meetings and events for them to know more about their district.
