A Major Milestone for Caye Caulker
Today marks an important step forward for our community with the official signing of the contract to construct a brand-new Police Station for Caye Caulker.
The project, valued at BZ$1.54 million, is being funded through CABEI. Construction is expected to commence in early March and is projected to be completed within approximately 12 months.
This new facility will significantly strengthen the capacity of the police department and greatly enhance public safety and security for residents and visitors alike — a true gain for the entire island community.
Special thanks and recognition to: Minister Martinez, Ministry of Economic Development
Hon. Oscar Mira, Minister of Home Affairs
Former Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa, who initiated the negotiations during his tenure
Your leadership and commitment have helped bring this critical project to fruition.
Looking ahead, the next major project in line is the construction of a new Government High School. This initiative aims to address long-standing safety concerns caused by the deteriorating condition of the current building, which has been heavily impacted by climate-related wear over time. The new school will greatly enhance the quality, safety, and resilience of educational infrastructure for our youth.
Progress is happening. Caye Caulker continues to move forward ; stronger, safer, and more prepared for the future.
