We've been working hard off-screen on getting *lift off* but want to take this moment to thank our Global Giving donors! TRS@BBR is committed to foundational ethics of animal welfare rights as intrinsic to holistic care and conscious stewardship. When forming our sanctuary operational plan as well as our educational design, a new model of Captive Wildlife Welfare Rights that harnessed and expanded beyond a 5 Freedoms model was essential. We want ALL wildlife, whether in short term rehabilitation, long term display, permitted home care, or permanent sanctuary, to benefit from these SIX ESSENTIAL RIGHTS.

We are excited to officially launch a long-needed program, THE RAPTOR SANCTUARY at Belize Bird Rescue

TRS@BBR will strive to redefine and embody ethical stewardship of raptor wildlife, creating new opportunities for remotely accessible conservation education both locally and globally, while always prioritizing animal welfare.

True sanctuary is safety and freedom from fear, harm, disturbance or stress. Not every rehabilitated bird is able to be released, nor appropriate for public display, and the alternative for raptors unsuitable for those roles is compassionate euthanasia. We believe environmental education can be expanded through technology while still prioritizing animal agency, and preserving captive wildlife welfare rights with a life of refuge and dignity.

We believe that Sanctuary is Sacred, and that wildlife education should exemplify Inspiration through Observation, while always improving practices of Ethical Stewardship. Utilizing new technology options, up to date animal welfare research, and a compassionate lens towards animal needs above human objectives, TRS@BBR will offer Belize additional conservation and education resources. With your support, we will create spacious, naturally-immersive enclosures, with minimal human disturbance, in accordance with Belize's wildlife laws, to honor each wildlife as a valid and valuable Wild Life. Let wild be WILD!
