The From Identity to Industry project has two phases, so more young people can benefit:
🔹 Phase 1 – Document Support (150+ youths)
We are helping over 150 young people get important documents like:
✔️ Birth Certificate
✔️ SSB ID
If your birth certificate is lost or damaged, we can guide you through the replacement process. If you're approved, we'll cover the fees according to project guidelines and available funding. Our team will also be doing outreach in different areas across San Ignacio and Santa Elena to make the process easier and more accessible.

Even if you’re unsure about your situation, we encourage you to still sign up—we’re here to help.

A growing town needs a smart plan. Zoning isn’t just about lines on a map; it’s about ensuring that as San Ignacio and Santa Elena grow, they remain livable, safe, and organized.

We’re working on a vision that respects our heritage while making room for new homes and businesses.

What area of town do you think needs better organization?
I’m listening.

Kamil Neal is a dedicated community leader whose work is creating stronger opportunities for children and youth in Belize. As Technical Coordinator of the Child-Friendly Municipality Unit in San Ignacio and Santa Elena, she has been a strong advocate for children’s rights, helping ensure that young voices are reflected in local policies, programs, and decision-making.

Her impact is especially evident in education and youth development. Kamil successfully advocated for major funding to reconstruct the Santa Elena Community Preschool, helping create a safer, more inclusive learning environment for children. She has also built strong partnerships across sectors and mentored young leaders through the Child Advisory Body, empowering them to grow in confidence and become advocates in their own communities.

Beyond policy and advocacy, Kamil has supported youth conferences, skills-building workshops, scholarship programs, and community initiatives that promote development, inclusion, and wellbeing. Her work continues to help shape environments where children and young people can thrive.

The future of San Ignacio & Santa Elena is virbant!

Impressed by the discipline of our local football teams.

Education and sports go hand-in-hand in building the leaders.

Let’s support these teams and cheer them on during their matches and during the off season.

Getting into the habit of taking a moment during the week to appreciate the beauty of the place we call home. We have a lot of work ahead, but when we stand together as one community, there’s nothing we can't achieve.

Family, faith, and Cayo. 🙏

What are you grateful for this Thursday?

Service is about belonging. 🤝
For those who don't know me yet, I’m Abdel Cowo.

To some, I’m a neighbor; to others, I’m a colleague; but to all, I am a dedicated servant of San Ignacio and Santa Elena. I believe that a community is only as strong as the trust between its people and its leaders.

My approach is simple: Listen. Plan. Deliver.
I’m committed to being present and getting the job done right.

I’m inviting you to follow this page to see the projects your town council has in motion, the policies we’re pushing forward, and how we’re working together to ensure our community thrives for generations to come. I’ll be sharing updates on council projects, community spotlights, and my plan for a better Cayo.

Follow along and join the conversation.
I want to hear what matters most to you.
