Motorcycle Driver Charged in Collision
Aylmer Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Tarry Parkway on Monday, May 18, 2026, at approximately 3:55 p.m.
Police attended the scene and determined that a motorcycle travelling northbound on Tarry Parkway collided with a parked vehicle after attempting to navigate around vehicles parked along the roadway while yielding to oncoming traffic.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old male from Aylmer was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Unsafe Move.
Aylmer Police Investigating Online Fraud
The Aylmer Police Service is investigating a reported online fraud after a resident was contacted through Facebook and advised they had won $3,500.00. The victim subsequently provided banking information and purchased $500.00 in Apple gift cards which were sent to an individual identifying themselves online as “Julie Leach.”
After realizing the incident was fraudulent, the victim attended the Aylmer Police Service to report the matter.
Vehicle Entries on Spruce Street
Overnight on May 19th into May 20th, 2026 several vehicles were either entered or attempted to be entered on Spruce Street West. Several items were taken from various vehicles. APS would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.
Aylmer Police Lay Assault Charge Following School Incident
The Aylmer Police Service has charged a 42-year-old individual following an assault investigation stemming from an incident that occurred at a school event in the Town of Aylmer. On May 20, 2026, police received a report of an altercation between two individuals attending a school function at a local school. During the investigation, police learned that an ongoing personal dispute between the parties escalated into a physical interaction.
As a result of the investigation, 42 years old female from Aylmer has been charged with Assault.
Aylmer Resident Charged with Various Offences
On May 20, 2026 Police were called to a residence after staff reported a resident had become increasingly aggressive and caused damage within the home.
During the incident, property inside the residence was damaged and an employee was struck with a plate that had been thrown during the altercation.
Upon police arrival, the female was located on the roof of the Officers safely negotiated with the female, who was subsequently taken into custody.
During the interaction, police allege the female assaulted a peace officer and uttered threats toward another officer. Police also determined the youth was in possession of a prohibited sharp instrument contrary to previously imposed release conditions.
As a result of the investigation, the female is facing the following charges:
• Two counts of Mischief Under $5,000
• Assault with a Weapon
• Failure to Comply with Undertaking
• Assault Peace Officer
• Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
