The Countdown Public Art Project continues nearby this summer!
Our beautiful public pebble mosaic monuments in Millennium Park and at Kaminiskeg Lookout were created by many people in our community coming together under the guidance of ReDefine Arts for the project - stepping stones part of a countdown to ending violence in our community.

🎨 Join us on Saturday, June 13 from 1-4pm in Killaloe, ON for the Countdown Creates: Pebble Mosaic Workshop — the first art-making workshop happening this summer as part of the Countdown Public Art Project!!

In this workshop, create a small pebble mosaic “stepping stone” that you can choose to keep, gift, or contribute to a Countdown monument in a public space.

Countdown Creates: art-making workshops are open to people of all ages and abilities. No experience is needed. All workshop materials are non-toxic, and safe for all ages.

🔗 Workshops have limited capacity. Register to secure a spot: https://tr.ee/tGwtr2.

🎤 Following the workshop, join us in celebrating the return of Countdown to the Ottawa Valley with an intimate acoustic concert as part of Countdown Live: concerts in the park.

ℹ️ For more information on the project and upcoming events, visit: https://linktr.ee/CountdownProject.

ID: Poster for Countdown Creates lists event information and features a close-up photo of a person making a pebble mosaic. The featured photo is surrounded by a Countdown collage, which includes warm colours and photo cut-outs of artwork and performers from past Countdown events.

Kudos and many thanks to Boyer GM Bancroft for joining in Maggie's Resource Centre of North Hastings event yesterday. Having a day every year now to raise awareness about sexual violence and gender-based harm brings hope for progress. This powerful march invites men to walk in women’s high heels, both symbolically and literally, to challenge gender norms and spark important discussions.

Yesterday members of our community stepped up, in red high heels, and took part in Walk a Mile in Their Shoes beginning and ending at Millennium Park in Bancroft in support of Maggie’s Resource Centre of North Hastings.

This important event shines a light on domestic violence, gender-based violence, and the ongoing need for support, awareness, compassion, and change. What may seem like a symbolic walk represents something much deeper. Standing beside survivors, listening without judgment, and reminding people that nobody should ever have to walk these roads alone.

It was inspiring to see people come together including representatives from Maggie’s, members of the Bancroft OPP, Sgt. Trevor Pitts, and many others from across our community who proudly donned the red heels in support of the cause.

At Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC Bancroft, we believe strong communities are built when people show up for one another, not just in good times, but when it matters most. We’re proud to support events that bring awareness, encourage conversation, and help make North Hastings a safer and more compassionate place for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, organized, and walked yesterday.

The Hearts of Remembrance Campaign
This campaign reflects the spirit of the event — planting something in memory of a loved one that will continue to grow and bloom over time.

Each heart carries the message:
“You are loved, you are missed, and you are remembered.”

It’s a simple but meaningful reminder that those we hold in our hearts continue to remain part of our lives and community.

We look forward to spreading seeds with you this weekend!
