TEMPORARY DOCK STORAGE – 2026

As we head into the 2026 boating season, residents are reminded that docks and boat lifts cannot remain stored on public beach, Municipal Reserve (MR), or Environmental Reserve (ER) lands within the Summer Village of Rochon Sands beyond early June.

Where possible, residents are encouraged to place docks into the lake. Otherwise, docks must either be stored on private property or placed within the temporary Marina Parking Lot storage area.

♻️ Electronics Recycling – May Long Weekend ♻️

An electronics recycling tote will be available beside the Rochon Sands garbage bin site throughout the May Long Weekend.

Please place items neatly inside the tote and help us keep the area clean.

2026 Tax & Assessment Notices Have Been Mailed.

Taxes are due June 30, 2026. Penalties will apply to current tax balances after this date, in accordance with our Tax Penalty Bylaw.

If you do not receive your notice, please contact the Municipal Office as soon as possible. You may need to update your mailing or contact information to ensure future notices reach you.

As a reminder, under the Municipal Government Act, not receiving a tax notice does not exempt property owners from payment deadlines or applicable penalties.

Enumerators play an important role in helping ensure our community is accurately represented in the national census.

📢 Rochon Sands Bay Construction Update – February 28, 2026
We’re pleased to share some positive news regarding construction work in Rochon Sands Bay.
Just a few weeks ago, following test drilling on February 9, it appeared that soft subsurface conditions would prevent work on the marina and boat launch this winter.
Thanks to an extended stretch of very cold temperatures, ground conditions improved enough to safely move ahead — and the results exceeded expectations.
✅ Legacy Streit/Zender Rock Pile – Completed
The Province removed the rock pile efficiently and ahead of schedule.
🚤 Municipal Boat Launch – Approximately 70% Complete
Excavation progressed much farther than originally expected, with roughly 70% of the planned work now complete.
Remaining work (outer launch section and “island” area) will be completed next winter or potentially during summer low-water conditions, if feasible.
⚠️ Even with this progress, the boat launch will require sufficient lake levels before it can function as intended. The infrastructure is now largely prepared — operational use will depend on water levels in the coming months.
🌊 Marina Basin – Approximately 60% Complete
Although we initially expected no marina work this winter, improved conditions allowed substantial excavation to proceed. Much of the work completed involved new excavation areas that establish a stronger foundation for long-term improvement and potential future expansion.
The southern portion of the marina basin will require completion next winter.
Even with this winter’s gains, full functionality of both the marina and boat launch remains dependent on sufficient lake levels. This work ensures we are ready as water levels recover.
Considering where we were just three weeks ago, this represents significant progress for Rochon Sands.
