This campaign has been a great opportunity to share my vision of what New Tecumseth should strive to be. Thank you for your support and thank you for considering me as your representative. Here are some highlights of my platform, I hope you take the time to read them and see how committed I am to serving you over the next term.
SERVICES
Municipal Services impact your lives on a daily basis. I am committed to ensuring you receive the services you need within a budget that works for your bottom line. Waste removal, water/wastewater, road maintenance, snow plowing, libraries and many others all contribute to our quality of life. I feel it is very important that you vote for someone who will fight for your services but also understand that your tax dollars are to be respected. You deserve that focus.
In the next 4 years I want to work on bringing more services from Simcoe County to New Tecumseth. The amount of tax dollars we send to them justifies it. I will work hard to see that our town gets what it deserves.
Our town is growing and with it comes new challenges. I know for certain we can overcome them if we work together and select leadership that does their homework and speaks up for New Tecumseth.
DEVELOPMENT
New Tecumseth is amazing and it’s our residents that make it so. We can see that in abundance when we look at our festivals, events, volunteers and how we make this place our home.
But we are growing, and with that comes challenges, but also opportunity.
Building our Town doesn’t always mean homes. But parks, facilities and the beautification of our downtowns should all be goals when considering development. I promise to hold that focus.
Our town is one of the most desirable places to live, but we need growth that works for all residents, especially the existing ones.
You and New Tecumseth deserve better.
ROADS
The simple fact is… poor roads cost residents more than the taxes to repair them.
Each pothole and broken piece of pavement contributes to the deterioration of your vehicle. With many citizens commuting this is a major problem we can’t ignore addressing.
Broken roads cost you money. Wearing down your vehicle faster and initiating costly repairs.
I will focus on repairing our roads properly so you can keep more of your money.
Your representation should fight for your bottom line. It should understand that residents deserve better and deliver when they promise to. It’s why I’m running for Deputy Mayor and why I believe I am the right person for the job.
REPRESENTATION
New Tecumseth is one of the largest contributors of revenue to Simcoe County but doesn’t get its fair share in return. I want to change that.
I will advocate to bring the services we need to our area including transit, road repair, and increased support for our ambulatory services. All things that will improve the lives of our citizens.
You deserve someone who will fight for our town's interests at Simcoe County, and secure the services we need. A vote for me is a vote to get your fair share and have your voice heard at county chambers.
RECREATION
Recreation and exercise are important. I believe that the cost to join a program or play a sport shouldn’t be the burden it is becoming. Our residents deserve affordable access to our recreational facilities and sports programs.
A vote for me is a vote for better access to the facilities that your tax dollars paid for. Our Parks and Recreation programs shouldn’t be designed to generate revenue for the municipality. It should be designed to allow residents to keep fit through out the year and offer options for all age groups.
AFFORDABILITY
We all feel it.
The rising cost of everything from food to fuel is changing how we budget and how we spend our hard-earned money.
How your government spends needs to change as well.
I will seek ways to reduce costs to you the taxpayer, and not spending money where we don’t need it.
More affordable recreation costs, fewer increases to your service fees, and tax rates that reflect your needs and circumstances.
Your bottom line is just as important as the Municipality's. As your Deputy Mayor I will look out for your tax dollars with the respect you deserve
SAFER COMMUNITIES
One of the responsibilities an elected representative has is to build communities that are safe and accessible.
Traffic control measures, speed bumps and increased police presence on our residential roads are just a few of the ways we can make our communities safer especially for our children.
Speeding on our streets is a problem we can't ignore. As your Deputy Mayor I will put forth measures to make our streets safer. You deserve no less.
