Find Iggy

It's been a year since Iggy returned from his 10 day "vacation". We are still so very grateful to all the people who took time to help us search for him and eventually bring him home. And yes his golden locks grew back!

To those reading this page who are where I have been: desperate to find their pet. Don't give up! Just because you haven't found them right away doesn't mean you will never see them again. That's what I thought but the odds are in your favour, you are more likely to find your pet than not. Iggy was missing for 10 days (and that's on the short side) and there were stretches of days where there were no sightings at all. Poster, tweet and share like mad and don't give up. I'm leaving this page up to give you hope; that your story will have a happy ending like mine did.

Everyone has been asking how Iggy came home; He was corralled by a family into their back yard near Brandon Gate Park on Saturday night, he spent the night there and was picked up by Mississauga Animal Services Sunday at noon. He is doing fine, been to the vet, has a bit of the poops, lost 4 pounds (10% of his body weight!), has lots of burrs, an ear infection in both ears and a sprained elbow. He is now on a rice diet, got some antibiotics and solution for his ears. All in all not too bad for being a wild dog for 10 days! He was very happy to see us, barking a lot as though he was trying to tell his story between happy licks. He smells of fresh cut grass, which is a lot better than I imagined, and he lost his golden locks from the top of his head as the brush gave him a bit of a haircut.

Our pup had a 10 day long wild adventure, and now he's on his way home :)
