Youth homelessness is a pressing issue in Canada, with thousands of young people struggling to find stable and secure housing. In Halton Region, the Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton supports the Bridging the Gap program, which provides critical support to youth ages 16–24 who are experiencing or at risk of becoming unhoused.

The Bridging the Gap program is designed to address the root causes of youth becoming unhoused, including poverty, family conflict, and mental health issues. By providing a safe and supportive environment, the program helps youth to:

Complete their education and gain employment skills
Access healthcare and counseling services
Develop life skills and independence
Rebuild relationships with family and community

Concerned about the housing crisis in your community?

Join us at the Halton Hills Public Library in Georgetown this Saturday, March 28 for an afternoon of story sharing and connection.

The CDH Lived Experience Initiative connects with voices of lived experience with homelessness to inform policy and action that we might take as a community as we work to realize the right to housing for all. Registration to this event is free, and we hope to see you there!
