You asked and we listened!

We’re pleased to announce a NEW Citywide On-Street Residential Parking Permit.

If you need to park on your street regularly, you can apply for a Citywide On-Street Residential Parking Permit. It will let you park your vehicle on your street all day and overnight, for up to two days in a row before you need to move your car.

Be sure to follow all parking rules because all other parking offences still apply and you don’t want to get a ticket.
For info on how the Permit works, how to get a permit, tips and restrictions, check out our new Citywide On-Street Residential Parking Permit page with all the details:

Reservations for Community garden plots for the 2026 season can now be made online and will be closed on Dec. 15, 2025.

Due to high demand, garden plot permits are for one season. Plots are assigned by a lottery draw for each season, and the lottery application does not guarantee a spot.

The season lottery outcome will be communicated by RCC Customer Service staff in early January 2026. Applicants will move up from the waitlist if plots are declined. Wait list information is confidential and not to be shared with applicants.

Residents will need to create a Live & Play account before applying. Those who already have an account may log in to their Live & Play account to make the reservation.

We just can’t leaf them alone…but it’s for their own good!
A pruned tree is a healthy tree? That’s why the City has a tree pruning program.

Our pruning program is very important work that protects our urban tree canopy and has many other valuable benefits:
It’s safer and easier for emergency vehicles (Fire, EMS, Police), snowplows, garbage trucks and other utility vehicles to get around our neighbourhoods to deliver the services we rely on.
We all need clear sightlines around intersections and to be able to see traffic signs to stay safe.

A properly pruned tree has a better chance of making it through a storm and other significant weather events. Fewer broken tree limbs and trees means more trees stay in the ground and off the ground!

The City of Burlington employs ISA Certified Arborists to prune municipal trees. They are highly trained and qualified experts and they follow our approved City of Burlington Tree Pruning Standards and International Society of Arboriculture best practices.

This spring and summer, expect to see these wonderful tree huggers around:
🌳 Tyandaga
🌳 Aldershot (North of Plains Rd.)
Note: To help prevent the introduction and spread of Oak Wilt, Oak trees will not be pruned before November 1.
Thank you for loving our trees. We do too so please be patient and understanding as we continue to do this important work to protect our urban forest.

The City of Burlington’s annual street and park tree pruning program is underway.

Join us for the pre-application meeting on the recent proposal for 777 Guelph Line. For clarification, this is an opportunity for this private land owner to share their thoughts and ideas of how they wish to develop this property.
Additionally, it is important to understand that this development will only replace The Bay at the Burlington Centre Mall, the rest of the Burlington Centre Mall will remain as is.
