Indians in YYC was glad to participate in this meaningful event organized by South Asian Social Justice Summit in Calgary

Glad to meet and have meaningful conversations with Clare Smart - Superintendent of Calgary Police & Asif Rashid - Deputy Chief of Calgary Police, our dear friend Amber Kurashi, and MLA Parmeet Singh Boparai Ji along with many other respected community members and leaders.

The event focused on unity, inclusion, awareness, and community empowerment. It was inspiring to connect with community leaders, organizations, law enforcement representatives, and passionate individuals working towards building a stronger and more inclusive society for everyone.

Wonderful to see the community coming together for such an important conversation at the South Asian Social Justice Summit in Calgary.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, speakers, and all attendees for creating such a positive platform for dialogue and collaboration. Together, we continue building bridges across communities and celebrating the strength of diversity in Calgary. 🇨🇦🇮🇳

Honoured to be featured by CBC News Canada and to share my views on Alberta’s immigration policy discussion and the future of our province.

I believe immigration is very important for Canada’s growth, economy, and multicultural identity. At the same time, provinces like Alberta should have a stronger voice in planning immigration based on local labour market needs, infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and economic priorities.

Today’s power outage impacted thousands across Calgary.

While reports said power was being restored earlier, the ground reality was very different. Many areas — especially small businesses — remained without electricity for several extra hours.

Clinics, restaurants, retail stores and service businesses had to shut down operations until late evening, resulting in cancelled appointments, lost revenue and inconvenience for customers.

We appreciate the restoration efforts, but the actual downtime was much longer than what was reflected in the news.

Hopefully better communication and faster response planning can help avoid such major disruptions in future.

Thanks to everyone who conserved water over the past two weeks ❤️! Effective immediately, all water restrictions have been lifted for the city of Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, Strathmore and Tsuut’ina Nation.
