Don’t be discouraged at the fringes continued attack on your ability to show your support for which ever candidate you chose. Most members of our community are appalled; however this is the devise politics of very few. Keep fighting and stand up to intolerance. Vote April 28th, and show support for our democracy, do not allow them to intimidate you!

Keith is the founder of the Jakait Group — recognized as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies — and later established Eclipse Packaging in the Leamington and Kingsville areas. With decades of experience in manufacturing, distribution, and trucking, Keith understands the economic challenges facing local families and businesses. His career has been shaped by cross-border trade between Canada and the U.S., giving him a unique perspective on what’s needed to strengthen the region’s economic future.

A strong community starts at home. 🏡👇🏼

I was lucky — in 2001, I bought a home for $162,000. That’s not the case today. Prices have skyrocketed, and demand keeps climbing.

Right now, in Chatham-Kent–Leamington, a studio apartment can cost $1,200/month. A modest two-bedroom? $2,000. And for a small three-bedroom house, families are looking at $400,000–$500,000.

That’s simply not affordable — not for a young person trying to get started in life, not for a growing family, and not for our future.

If we want our communities to succeed, we need to give families the tools to thrive — and that starts with housing they can afford.

The government can’t be an obstacle to growth. It needs to be a partner.

Prime Minister Mark Carney recognizes that we’re in a housing crisis — and I couldn’t agree more.

That’s why the Liberal plan takes bold action:
🏗️ Acting as a developer to build housing at scale
🏘️ $25B invested in pre-fab home builders
🏡 $10B in low-cost financing for affordable housing developers

We also need to partner with companies specializing in affordable home building and catalyze private developers to get moving — building homes real families can actually afford.

Because I believe that everyone deserves the chance to build a life right here at home.

To be Canada Strong, we need to be strong at home — starting right here in Chatham-Kent–Leamington.

Chatham-Kent–Leamington is farm country. From soybeans and cornfields to greenhouses bursting with tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers — when you think of our region, you think of our farmers.

I cut my teeth in this industry. It’s where I built my career, and it’s why I know just how vital agriculture is to everything we do.

Our farmers create thousands of jobs — crop workers, specialists, sales reps, marketers. But their impact goes far beyond the field.
