Tonight for training, we were fortunate enough to be able to send a crew south to Spruce Home to do some training with Buckland Fire and Rescue. We took turns showing our trucks and set ups for wildland fire fighting, to ensure seamless work between our departments when the time comes that it's required. This type of regional cooperation is vital in rural volunteer firefighting as it is not a matter of if we will work together but when we will work together. As always, thanks for the great training night!

Over the past two evenings, if you drove past our hall in Christopher lake, you may have noticed some activity. Some of our crew were lucky enough to get some hands on vehicle extrication training. With the knowledge being passed on from certified career firefighters to our department, it helps raise the skill set and confidence for our newer members to be able to handle the situations we may face. With new tips and tricks, trainings like these are vital for us to be able to keep our response area safe and covered no matter what time off day, month, or year. Thank you to our members who took the time away from there families to expand your abilities to make our communities safer.

STARS had to divert last minute into our response area so as our crews were securing the landing zone, STARS circled above. Once crews verified there were no hazards on the landing zone, STARS was guided to the ground on the soccer field at Christopher Lake Public School. Once the helicopter was on the ground crews waited the arrival of Parkland Ambulance with the patient. After the STARS crew assessed the patient in the Ambulance with the Parkland paramedics, our crews assisted with transferring the patient from the Ambulance into the helicopter. Once the helicopter departed, crews packed up our landing zone kit and returned back to the hall.
