Transparency Update: PVNCCDSB v. Ministry of Labour

It has come to my attention that CanLII has published provincial tribunal decisions related to my workplace safety concerns at the PVNCCDSB.

I encourage everyone to visit CanLII.org, search for OLRB Case Nos. 0106-26-HS and 0107-26-HS, and read these documents closely.

The question before the tribunal is historically significant for school board governance across Ontario, and I am happy that the Crown and I are unified, and together we hold the exact same position.

I do not want to prejudice this ongoing case in any way, so I will leave you to draw your own conclusions from the public record.

Indeed, I am humbled by the moment.

It has been a long time coming.

Transparency Update: Since my return to the PVNCCDSB, the Board has utilized an Integrity Commissioner on four separate occasions.

The Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act (Bill 98) mandates that school boards shall publish Integrity Commissioner determinations on their websites. However, the Board is currently choosing to provide only high-level summaries.

It doesn't have to be like this. These investigations are funded by the public, and I believe the public has a right to see the full findings. I am currently working to ensure that these reports are released to our constituents. Thus far my appeals for more transparency have been rejected by the board.

The PVNCCDSB Trustee Expenditures for 2025 are available for public viewing on the board website. In light of the Ministry's new blueprint for board accountability, ratepayers in Clarington deserve to see exactly where their tax dollars are going.
