PLEASE NOTE: Maple Hill Road, north of Peever Line to Hazelglen Road, will be closed during business hours on Monday, August 31 for a culvert replacement.

The road will remain open to local traffic, only. Please use caution around the work area.

Signage will be posted at Hart Road & Hazelglen Road and Peever Line & Maple Hill Road to identify the closure.

Public Service Announcement: Two sightings of blue-green algae in Callander Bay have been reported throughout August 2026, with the most recent sighting reported to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks on August 20. The Health Unit is advising residents and visitors of Callander Bay to use caution when using the lake water. Read more: https://bit.ly/4zZ8Pzs.

Update: Bear Creek Road is open as of 2:45 p.m. - August 27, 2026
A big thank you to everyone for your ongoing patience and understanding during the abutment delivery today. The first two sections of the bridge are now in their permanent position
on Bear Creek Rd.
The final sections of the bridge will be delivered on Tuesday, September 1st and Bear Creek Road will be closed from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for the crane to be onsite for the delivery.

Public Notice: Upcoming Road Closure Road Closures Thursday, August 27 and Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Please be advised on Thursday, August 27, 2026 Bear Creek Road will be closed to allow for the crane to be onsite to deliver the abutments for the bridge. The road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the road will be closed for the crane to be onsite to deliver the final sections of the bridge. The road will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Degagne Aggregates is working hard to complete these closures in a timely manner and before the start of school.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank everyone for their ongoing patience and understanding as the contractor works to complete this important infrastructure upgrade.
The Fire Department will have a truck stationed on the west side of closure to respond to any emergency calls.
