The guys will be cutting some sod today if anyone if hoping to get some before the rain starts 🌧️

If it gets too wet we may be done cutting grass till the spring so now is the time!

Hammering out some more sods before the season comes to a close! When we install it is not just a smear some “soil” around and toss the grass on it type of service. We take the time to:

- Power/roto Rake to remove rocks the original surface
- Access grade/drainage issues and deal with accordingly
- Import our own high quality screened topsoil
- it is spread via specialized equipment
- Sod is installed by hand with care by experts who are doing this all season long

Manufacturing our own materials means we do not try to be light or stretch our loads to save some $. Things are done right the first go around.

If you’re spending your hard earned money on a lawn, don’t have remorse after a sub par job is done by somebody who doesn’t take pride in their work or couldn’t care less if your lawn is smooth to mow. We sure do 👍🏼

Beauty still morning here on the west coast, perfect for a hunt if you’re lucky enough to have a license! (None for me this year 👎🏼)

If sods are on your mind, soon is the time! We picked to a couple projects this week plus what we already have lined up so we may be able to fit one or two more before we stop cutting for the season. Normally we could go almost till snow is here but It’s been too wet to work on the fields.

Hydroseeding we already have more than I think we’ll be able to finish as that has to germinate before temps drop too much and by the looks of the weather that’s sooner rather than later.

We do have room for a couple more equipment work this fall, gravel driveways, land clearing, retaining walls, brush cutting, etc. If you’ve been waiting to see that skid steer at the top of the gaff.. it’s coming soon enough 😉

Heading into the labor day weekend I just wanted to give a shoutout to the guys who have been an absolute pleasure to work with since I bought this business last spring. The labourers like I were new to sods but now are quite proficient at the entire process from cutting to laying.

Clients have made comments that they can tell the guys enjoy what they do, laughing and carrying on even in the 🌧️. We aim to keep the mood light because it’s hard work no matter what way you cut it so just as well have a laugh when you can.

So a huge thanks to Sam, Nate, Kev (pictured) plus Dave, Dalley and Larry for being an awesome group of guys to work with and for following me on this new adventure of owning a sod farm 🤙🏼

Beauty start to the day this morning! ☀️

We’ve been getting asked if it’s too late to sod or hydroseed. Fall is one of the best times to lay sod as you don’t have the heat stress the summer months bring plus there’s more rainfall/heavy dew to help with the watering.

The window for hydroseeding is closing so if that’s on your mind reach out sooner rather than later. We’ve got a few projects still in queue but have room for a few more before the season ends! 👍🏼
