Timeless Design is Sustainable Design
Longevity & Responsibility

The careful choice of materials, systems, and components make a home sustainable today. The thoughtful attention to space, flow, and form makes it sustainable for generations. Legacy abides in the service to the human spirit, which has not eroded since the dawn of civilization.

Authentic Design for Authentic Living
A Living Balance

Authentic Design honors our present-day challenges as well as our origins as a species. Designing a living space that completely fulfills our need for integration with nature is nearly impossible in most circumstances. But with intentionality at play, my goal is to strike a working balance between the two that elevates our lived experience, leaving a legacy of human value in built form that transcends generations.

Authentic Design for Authentic Living
Beyond Frameworks

Design systems like Feng Shui and Vastu Shastra offer valuable perspectives on aligning our spaces with human nature. But they are ultimately codified frameworks – and when treated as doctrine, they can constrain the flow of creative design.

The right design must feel right to my client – true to how they choose to live today, and responsive to their unique needs, values, and way of being. Authentic Design is not about following a prescribed system, but about creating spaces that resonate on a deeply human level.

Authentic Design for Authentic Living
Reclaiming What It Means to Be Human

The goal of Authentic Design is to begin by acknowledging what it means to be human, and how we became who we are. That we are not well suited for hard boundaries between nature and our built spaces, nor are we well suited for being disconnected from all the natural cues that our daily rhythms were developed to be governed by.

Every home needs a little sprinkle of charm. That little nook, a hidden space, something that brings magic and play into the space.

A well-designed home endures through stability and change. Space that is balanced to meet real needs without excess will remain manageable through unforeseen challenges and adaptable in times of transition. Such design safeguards its worth and usefulness, ensuring it continues to serve its occupants and future stewards as an enduring asset.
