Seeking Volunteers.
As you may know every year Ace brewing, Shorewolf farm and UROC collaborate and make a beer called Green Room. We’re doing it again this year, and we’re seeking volunteers to help prepare the freshly picked hops.
Dates:
September 8th 10am to 4pm
September 10th 10am to 4pm
Location:
    Shorewolf Farm
8376 Island Hwy N, Black Creek.
We’re looking for up to 20 volunteers each day. Shorewolf farm will provide coffee, water, snacks, gloves, etc. The task is sorting out cones from chaff after the hop picker has separated the cones from the bines.
Give this message a thumbs up if you can join.
And show up to Shorewolf farm on any of the dates to be a part of this year’s brew of the Green Room.

We’re excited to recognize https://www.facebook.com/comoxvalleytoyota/ as a proud UROC sponsor! 💛
Did you know that when a UROC member purchases a vehicle from Comox Valley Toyota, they trigger a $500 donation to UROC? On top of that, UROC members also receive 10% off parts and service. Pretty rad, hey?!
A huge thank you to Comox Valley Toyota for supporting UROC and the trails we all love. We're proud to have you as part of the UROC community.

🐸 We made it. And the Western Toads did too.
It's officially the end of an epic, extraordinary, and at times chaotic Western Toad migration from Allen Lake. All trails and roads are OPEN.
This was, without question, the biggest, longest, and most widespread migration we've ever experienced in Cumberland. Tens of thousands of young toads made their way through the trail network, travelling east towards Blue Collar, south through the Teapot corridor, and in two directions along the Perseverance Creek corridor before finally reaching their new homes around the disc golf wetlands and the Potluck wetlands.
It's fantastic news. More than anything, this migration demonstrates that we have a thriving Western Toad population in the Cumberland area and that our collective efforts to protect this species of concern are making a real difference.
A huge thank you to everyone in our trail community for your patience, understanding, and support. You respected trail closures, followed reroutes, slowed down when needed, and gave these little amphibians the space they needed to complete one of the most remarkable wildlife events our trail network hosts each year.
A special thank you goes to our incredible volunteer/s and trail crew. Day after day they ventured into the network, monitoring the migration, installing and moving fencing, updating signage, and helping us respond as the toads changed direction. It was a huge undertaking this year, and this program simply wouldn't happen without their dedication.
Thank you all for helping make this year's migration such a success.
Here's to doing it all again next year. 🐸💚
