Plebiscite on Land Use Planning in Wileville.
October 15 Results.
Voters in Wileville provided their input on whether Council should consider the adoption of land use planning regulations ("Zoning") in their community.
The (unofficial) results from the Plebiscite are that 60.3% voted in favour ("YES") of adopting land use controls.
The conclusion to take from this (unofficial) result is that: an insufficient percentage of Wileville residents voted in favour of adopting land use planning.
Council's policy identifies that a two-thirds majority (66.6%) is required, in favour of land use planning, in having the Municipality proceed to the next step in forming a new Plan Area.
Staff will provide a report to Council on the Plebiscite's results, and on the process leading to it, at a later date. An information notice will be sent out via this e-list serve prior to the date of staff's presentation to Council.

If you will be voting by paper ballot at a polling station on Election Day (October 15th, 2016), please be sure to check your Voter Information Letter to determine the location of the polling station at which you are designated to vote. Due to municipal electoral boundary changes, you may not be voting in the same location where you have voted in previous elections.

To avoid 😡😱😭😤 disappointment, confusion and frustration on Election Day, confirm which is these locations is the correct polling station for YOU to vote at by checking your Voter Information Letter or contacting the Elections Office (902) 530-5730

If you prefer not to vote electronically by phone or Internet during the Advance Polls and have questions about the accessibility of your designated polling station meeting your specific needs to vote by paper ballot on Election Day, please contact the Elections Office right away so we can issue a transfer certificate should you require it. ♿️🗳
