*****Information Release*****
We are currently under a province wide burn ban as we face an extended period of dry weather.
In the coming days conditions are not expected to improve as an extended period of extremely hot
weather will move into New Brunswick late this weekend lasting into next week. The potential
for catastrophic wildland fires is very high and we are asking for the publics assistance in limiting all
outdoor activities that could initiate a fire. Provincially NBEMO has activated the Provincial Emergency
Operations Centre to Level 1 – Enhanced Monitoring. Locally our departments are monitoring the
situation closely as it unfolds. Emergency cooling shelters will be opened as necessary so please monitor
the Municipal and Fire Departmet Social Media pages closely for updated information. As always in the case
of an emergency please call 911. Should you or a loved one require non-emergency assistance please contact
Chief Foster at 506-391-5477 and arrangements will be made for a member to assist.

Last evening our members responded back to the area behind the government garage in Debec for a reported forrest fire. Thanks to a quick knock down the fire was extinguished before gaining to much traction. This is our second response in a number of weeks to this area and there was a third incident where a fire self extinguished. The forrest is going to continue to dry out this week and we encourage everyone to exercise extreme caution in and around the woods. Once again thank you to our friends at NB DNER for their help and support.
