The Durham Youth Council was founded in 2011, and is Durham's original, Durham born, Youth Council.

Youth Council has discussed the EFW Facility in Clarington, the Ethanol Plant in Oshawa, the High School Junk Food Ban in Durham Region, the Pickering Airport and so much more! Here at the Durham Youth Council, we believe that youth are key stakeholders in our community and have many qualities th

at can contribute to the betterment of our Region. We also believe that youth should be included in the decision making process on issues that effect youth in the Region of Durham. We are committed to inclusion and diversity on our council and strive to have an open, honest, fair and respectful council.
