Absolutely massive announcement for Alberta and Canada. Congrats to Premier Danielle Smith and Prime Minister Carney.

Alberta is winning.

The federal Clean Electricity Regulations are gone, opening the door to new investment in Alberta’s power grid and economy.

Today’s $4.6 billion investment in the Greenlight Electricity Centre will create more than 1,000 construction jobs, provide reliable electricity for industry, reduce electricity costs for ratepayers, and further establish Alberta as a global destination for investment. Best of all, it will be powered by Alberta’s abundant natural gas.

This is what happens when governments get out of the way, remove barriers, and let Albertans build.

Thank you for everything you do for your families. From the lessons you teach and the examples you set, to the love, encouragement, and support you provide every day, you play an important role in shaping the next generation.

I’m especially grateful for my dad, Doug, who has been a source of strength, love, passion, and plenty of laughter throughout my life. I feel incredibly fortunate for his guidance, support, and friendship over the years.

Our Board members attended an informative event hosted by Edmonton Whitemud UCP. We heard MLA Nate Glubish speak about how Alberta is approaching AI Data Centre projects differently than other jurisdictions; for example, using waterless technology, ensuring proponents bring their own power supply, still pay taxes & develop land already designated for heavy industrial use.
