🎨 Our new mural is officially complete! A big thank you to Justine Marie Studios for her incredible work. She stopped by yesterday to add the finishing touches and sign the piece and she'll be sharing more behind-the-scenes content on her page.

For the best experience, view the mural from far away and up close. Take a step back to see the big picture, then get close and discover the details and array of colours that make up the prairie landscape. The artwork features a few fun hidden components, including words submitted by White City residents; how many can you find?

🧘 Forever… in motion: 10:00-11:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays (September 10 to December 17)
🧸 Toddler and Me: 9:00-11:00 am on Wednesdays (September 16 to December 16)
🍪 Free to Be: 6:30-8:30 pm on Wednesdays (October 14, 21 & 28, November 18 & 25, December 9 & 16)
🍕 The Social Spot: 6:30-8:30 pm on the first Wednesday of the month (October 7, November 4 & December 2)
☕ Senior Social Club - Line Dancing and Cards: 12:15-4:00 pm on Wednesdays (September 16 to December 16)

The White City Town Office will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labour Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 with our regular business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

During the office closure, utility and tax payments can be made online via your banking institution or through OptionPay. Payments by cheque can be dropped through the drop-off slot at the office. Please do not place cash in the drop-off slot.

It's time to turn over a new leaf, rake-it-'til-you-make-it and sweep up the season: our semi-annual community cleanup programs are fast approaching.

Here are the fall dates:
🪾 Branch Chipping: Must have branches out by September 20
🍂 Leaf Bag Pick Up: Oct 12 to Oct 23 (must have bags out by Oct 21, 2026)
♻️ Clean Up Bins: Oct 21 to Oct 29 (located at the Splash Park on Lipsett Street)

Reminder: Public Works is using a single pass (“Once Through Town”) approach for branch chipping, so make sure to have your branches out by September 20. Crews are limited to 10 minutes per property and will not return for branches placed after the deadline.

Kids head back to class tomorrow! As students, families and staff get back into the school-year routine, let's make safety a top priority. Whether you're walking, biking or driving, a few simple habits can help everyone get where they're going safely.

🚶‍♀️Walkers: Plan a safe route to school using pathways whenever they're available and walk facing traffic. Look both ways and wait until traffic has stopped before crossing the street. Tip: make eye contact with drivers before stepping into the road. Walk with a buddy or an adult whenever possible, and stay alert by putting your phone away and removing headphones while walking.

🚲 Bikers: Always wear a properly fitted helmet and follow the rules of the road. Ride single file and in the same direction as traffic. Come to a complete stop before crossing the street.

🚗 Drivers: Follow all posted speed limits, keep an eye on your surroundings, and be prepared to stop suddenly. Stay alert around crosswalks, intersections and school entrances. Stop for school busses with flashing lights and/or an extended stop arm. Give yourself some extra time for your commute so you don't feel rushed.
