🏕️ Homelessness in Northern Ontario isn't always visible — but it's real.

Unlike big cities where homelessness is more often seen on sidewalks or in shelters, in Northern and remote communities, it often takes the form of couch surfing or makeshift camps deep in the woods.

Many people experiencing homelessness in the North face limited access to shelters, services, and transportation. During periods of extreme weather, the risks are life threatening.

The Homelessness Prevention Program can help with short-term, one-time assistance for things such as hydro arrears or disconnection, rental arrears to avoid eviction, as well as other emergency situations.
