With the extreme heat we have been experiencing, the Village is seeing an increase in snake activity within the community, including rattlesnakes.
Residents are encouraged to use extra caution when walking near tall grass, shrubs, rock piles and other areas where snakes may seek shade or shelter.
Please remember:
• Watch where you step and place your hands
• Keep children and pets close and supervised
• Never approach, touch or attempt to move a snake
• Give any snake plenty of space and allow it to move away
• Check around yards, steps and outdoor play areas regularly
Snakes generally want to avoid people, but they may defend themselves if they feel threatened. Please stay alert and help keep yourself, your family and your pets safe.
