UPDATE - Endako Wildfire - August 27, 2026 10:15am

Bundada Hoonzoo,

The Stellat’en EOC Team received an update from BC Wildfire Service this morning. The fire north of Endako received rain over night and there is little to no growth. Heavy equipment arrived on site yesterday evening and worked throughout the night. Air and ground operations continue.

There is no plan change the area of the evacuation alert around Savory Road, and Stellaquo remains unaffected by the alert.

We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.

UPDATE - Endako Wildfire - August 26, 2026 – 4:00pm

Hadih,

The Stellat’en EOC Team has been monitoring a fire which is approximately 10 kilometers from the Stellaquo Reserve.

This morning an evacuation alert was issued for an area north of Endako. The alert means that those people should be prepared to leave their homes if necessary.

Stellaquo is NOT under an evacuation alert and there are no highway closures affecting travel.

3 initial attack crews have been responding since this morning, and early this afternoon water skimmers arrived to draw off of Fraser Lake and attack the fire along with a water tanker laying down suppressant at the flank of the fire. Smoke jumpers are also expected this afternoon.

The EOC Team is working closely with local emergency responders and the BC Wildfire Service to make sure that we stay up to date on the status of the fire and provide regular updates to the community.
