Did you know the Village of Glenwood has a Bylaw specifically for the regulation and control of dogs within Village boundaries? It's Bylaw No. 219-2023 and you can read the whole thing at glenwood.ca.
Here are some of the highlights, the following constitute an offence for the owner that may result in a notice, fine, and if necessary the capture and impoundment of a dog.
a) failing to purchase and or display a valid dog license;
b) a dog who is off the premises of the owner and not on a leash or under control;
c) a dog running at large;
d) a dog chasing, worrying, or annoying any person or animal on property other than that owned by the dog owner;
e) a dog which barks, howls, or otherwise disturbs anyone (please don't cause your neighbours sleepless nights);
f) a dog that has bitten or threatens to bite any person within the Village.
Violation of these and other offences would result in:
- Warning notice - first offence
- $100.00 - second offence
- $250.00 - third offence
- $500.00 - fourth offence and any subsequent offences.
