Join us for the Huron County Candidate Information Session on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Libro Community Hall, Clinton for an evening full of valuable information about municipal government, the 2026 Municipal Election, how local councils work, voting methods, and what it takes to become a candidate.

Council Meeting Cancellation Notice

Please be advised that the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. has been cancelled.

The next regular Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., with the Court of Revision for Municipal Drain No. 20 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Residents can dispose of eligible items FREE OF CHARGE during Landfill Amnesty Day! Bring your yard cleanup, brush, outdoor waste, and bulk items that have been sitting outside in your yard to the landfill and take advantage of this one-day opportunity to declutter and beautify your property.

Clean up, and clear out your yard, and show your community pride before Homecoming! Together, let’s make Howick look its best for 170 years of celebration.

Household waste and recycling are subject to regular tipping fees and are not included in the Amnesty Day. Amnesty items are up to the discretion of the Landfill Attendant.
For anybody unable to make it to the landfill on this day, please call the Township Office to pre- arrange a pickup and to confirm what you have to dispose of.

With the warm weather rolling in, we know families are ready to cool off and make some summer memories , so we’re excited to open the Gorrie splash pad ahead of schedule!

We can’t wait to see everyone out enjoying the splash pad and kicking off summer a little early this year!

Waste Management is switching their fleet to automated dual collection trucks in Howick this summer. We want to help you feel prepared and confident before rollout day!

Join us for a Waste Cart Information Night
Monday, June 22, 2026
5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Howick Community Centre

Come see the new carts up close, learn how they work, practice wheeling and maneuvering them, and ask any questions you may have about the new collection program.

Representatives from Waste Management and Township Staff will be on hand to explain:
✅ How to properly place your cart for collection
✅ Where to set carts on collection day
✅ Cart spacing requirements
✅ Winter placement tips
✅ What can and cannot go in your cart

Happy to join Reeve Harding at the Fire Department to present $16,800 from our government for for the Howick volunteer firefighters to help keep them safe while they protect us!

The incredible work by local volunteer firefighters is valued and can never taken for granted. Thank you to Doug from the Fire Marshall’s Office for joining us for the presentation!
